it was so long ago. Anyway, the new door is finally here, on island, and as of today
INSTALLED!
Yippee!!

Also, the thing I hated most about this door is the window that anyone could peek thru and see what was going on inside our living room (see Snax in there? oh and Gavin's spooky looking face reflecting in the glass). 

Here is Snax showcasing the new hardware.

The doorknob on the old door literally starting falling off the day we ordered the new door. no kidding. its like it knew.

The contractor came and dropped off the door, and left his tools, then had to go take his truck to the mechanic because I could literally hear his truck squealing all the way down my street before he got to my house. He left his power tools, so I knew he'd be back.

The dudes came back. Yay. Snax at this point was tied to the avocado tree out front watching the boys remove the old door. 

Then he moved inside to micromanage and "supervise" from inside (behind the baby gate, of course, to stop him from going up to "assist").

So, my creepy neighbor Darryl stopped by twice to harass the contractors. At one point he was trying to get them to go to his house to give a quote on a job he wants done at his house. Listen dude, they are here to do a job at my house, they were already an hour late re: the truck snafu, so back off. 

He asked them to stop by his house when they're done with my door to come "look" at his job, they left without doing that. hahaha.

it's just much nicer. that's all there is to it. 

oh, and in case you're like "um. but Emi, you said you hated the window on your old door because people could see inside, then what's up? This window is way bigger.." 

Yes, but this glass is frosted. so you'd have to really want to see inside to be able to see inside...
